Gibson Motorsport to compete in Supercar Challenge Superlights with GH-19
Gibson Motorsport, based at Stokesley, has decided to join the Supercar Challenge Superlights for the 2014 season. “It is our intension is to join the Superlights at the Nurburgring and compete with 1 car initially, with a second car joining the team at Zolder. Both cars will then compete for the rest of the season”, Daniel Gibson explains.
“Here at Gibson Motorsport we are currently building on the experience gained with our prototype raced in 2013. The GH-19 was originally designed in 2011 for a build programme in 2012. Regulation changes forced a redesign in that year and the 2012 redesign delayed any on track running until 2013. The car is undergoing a further design review with the aim of optimising the current specification that will make it viable for multiple series. Once finalised the car will go into production”, Daniel Gibson says. “The GH-19 is fundamentally a quick car, with the upgrades currently in design we believe we will have a car that can not only take on the current CN cars but also take the top step of the podium away from them.”
“We are utilising top line technology not only to design but also manufacture the GH-19. We have a team of experienced designers on the project, all with experience from the very top echelon of the sport. With this combination the evolution racecar being developed from the GH-19 will be formidable. While employing state of the art processes we are also keeping the costs within budget, this means the car will be a viable option for potential teams to buy a car capable of winning out of the box. We intend to provide a comprehensive customer support service. Customers will have the safe knowledge of being able to receive technical support from us as well as material support at events at which we are competing.”
Gibson Motorsport will be competing with the GH-19 in the Supercar Challenge Superlights with two cars. “Using the GH-19 we will be developing components and systems for the evolution car, which in itself will come online later in the series. As well as having top line drivers in the development car we will also have seats available in the sister car at these events”, said Gibson. “We are of course more than happy to discuss the requirements to test the GH-19 and the service we will provide should a driver decide to race his own GH-19.”
